  • Females lay around 200-500 eggs loosely in food over a 6-12 month lifespan.
  • Optimum development occurs in the range of 32oC to 35oC at a relative humidity of 70%.
  • They have one of the highest population growth rates for stored product insects.
  • They cannot feed on whole, undamaged grain. Often found in large numbers in infested grains, feeding on broken grain, grain dust.
